What to tell dispatch
Have these ready if you can
- Your street address and city, since several towns in the area share similar names
- Where the water came from, such as a pipe, appliance, roof, irrigation line or drain
- Which rooms are wet and how long the water has been there
- Whether the water touched outlets, appliances or the electrical panel
- Your insurer's name, if you plan to file a claim
None of this is required to start. If you only know that water is coming through a ceiling, say so and dispatch will ask the rest.
If you are in the middle of an emergency
Stop the source first if you can do so safely. If the water touches electrical equipment, stay out and call the utility or 911 before you call us. We offer same-day response when available, and we do not promise an exact arrival time. The emergency water removal page explains what happens when the crew arrives.
If you are comparing options
Call and ask how a job would work. We explain the scope and the price before work starts, and we will tell you plainly if your problem belongs to another trade. For background, read about water mitigation or our mold remediation process.
Calls to our line may be recorded for quality and training purposes.
What happens after you call
Dispatch listens
You describe the source, the rooms and the time. Nothing is scheduled until the picture is clear.
The plan is explained
You hear what a crew would do first and which factors set the price, before any work starts.
A crew is sent
We offer same-day response when available. If the crew is delayed, dispatch tells you.
Records are kept
Photos and moisture readings are taken so you have documentation for your insurer.
Questions people ask before calling
Many callers are unsure whether their problem is big enough to call about. A good rule is to call when water has been standing for more than a few hours, when a ceiling or wall is wet, or when a smell suggests mold. The EPA says wet materials should be dried within 24 to 48 hours, so waiting a day to see what happens uses up most of that window.
Others ask whether the call costs anything or commits them to work. A call commits you to nothing. Dispatch explains the scope and price before work starts, and you decide after hearing it.
If the problem is a plumbing failure, a roof leak or a foundation crack, we handle the water it caused, not the repair of the pipe, roof or wall that let it in. Dispatch will tell you which trade to call for that part.
